Why study Spanish?

I'm a student of Sra. Odom's Spanish 1 class this year. I'm taking Spanish because I think it will be an interesting thing to start understanding the Spanish language. I think everyone should take Spanish for its learning experience because of our growing population; Spanish is the second most used language in America. Learning Spanish would also benefit you in many ways as well. You could understand your Spanish speaking friends and other people in public, order things at resturants, and even communicate if you traveled to a Spanish speakin country!
